Matt's Old

Fiddling with Rambler's since 1995

If this site has bored you to tears, you may find a reprieve at these places:

Ansari X-Prize   Cars are cool and stuff but how about privately funded space flight? This prize is $10 million to the first privately funded group to do a sub-orbital space flight twice in two weeks. Chances are, Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne ( will have already won this prize by the time you read this.   A soon to be great resource for all things AMC.
The Dilbert Zone If this one needs explaining, don't even bother clicking it. THE internet resource for Javelins and AMX's
Allan Flemings Home Page Lots of links to other AMC resources
Paul Dwyer's (Rambler Dan) home page A must visit for American lovers!
Painless Wiring Makers of various wiring harnesses and wiring products.

Project 33 - 1933 Ford 3 Window Coupe   Project 33 is a glass version of a 1933 Ford 3 window coupe. This site's very informative and chock full of useful stuff for anyone messing with an old (or at least looks like an old) car.
1963 Jaguar XKE FHC   Rust repair and restoration of 1963 Jaguar XKE FHC. FHC means "Fixed Head Coupe" and is English English for hardtop.

Sandy's Garage - 1970 Hemi Road Runner   A case of boy has cool Hemi engine but no car, boy finds cool Hemi car with no engine, boy does lots of rust repair and restoration work.
Northwest Transmission Parts   Transmission parts for older manual and automatic transmissions. I purchased parts from them for the T-14 I put in my American and I was very happy with both the price and service.
Swedish Treasures   Vintage Volvo parts. Why a Volvo parts vendor on a mostly Rambler site? The reason is they are one of the few places that carries brake hardware for 9 inch Wagner drum brakes. This place appears to be one of the really good vendors. The parts I ordered arrived quickly and shipping was inexpensive.
Inline Tube   Reproduction fuel, brake, and vacuum lines.
Antique Auto Cellar   Fuel pump rebuilding. They did the fuel pump on my wagon. It came back quickly and it looked and worked like new.
Kennedy American   AMC parts supplier. This is the place where I purchased the outer rocker panels for my 1968 American.
McMaster-Carr   Giant selection of hardware.
AMARK AMX / Javelin Parts   Various restoration parts for AMCs. Most of their stuff is for Javelins and AMXs but they do have some American and SC/Rambler stuff. They recently started selling 1966 - 69 hood ornaments which have not been available as reproductions for a long time.

Electrical Supplies and Info

Electrical Connectors   Mike Rowand's guide to some of the more commonly used automotive electrical terminals and where to get them. This was a huge help to me when I rebuilt the engine wiring harness for my 1984 Ramcharger.
Maney Wire & Cable   Supplier of quality automotive grade wire. They have a very good selection of colors (including wires with tracers colors) and are very easy to deal with.
Clips & Fasteners   The name pretty much describes this company. They also carry a good selection of electrical terminals and connector bodies.
Performance Connection Systems   Great selection of terminals and connector bodies.
RJM Injection Tech   They mostly sell fuel injection stuff for Fords but they also sell wire harness tape (which is what I purchased from them) at a great price.
